I'm leaving cold dark Sweden behind and hopping on a plane for the USA in a few hours. Will be great seeing everyone back home and I can't wait to bask in the sun and actually climb rocks. It's a shame these winter trip always have to begin with getting back in shape but I'll be State side until mid February so maybe I'll get a couple things done. First stop is a pseudo-secret sandstone area in NM and if it's good enough I might be there for a week or two. I'm hoping for the best but worse-case-scenario I head down to the Tanks. Win-win.
Also, as Movember comes to a close I thought I'd post a little video experiment of mine. Here was my first attempt at a stop motion of sorts. I just wish my mustache wasn't so weak

A Spotter in Training
Sometimes it's hard to find a spot so I recruited Hammie. Can't wait until she can carry a pad to the boulders as well.

Taking a Digger
It's always nice to capture a good fall, especially when the climber emerges unscathed.
Disclaimer: I'd like to say that Chris is a good spotter. Actually, I think the video is a testament to this as Chris skillfully walks that thin line between avoiding a dab and catching the climber. Of course, things don't always go as planned and bad falls still happen with good spots. I don't reckon there is a good way to spot this fall without dabbing, but pad placement could have been better.

Back in Sweden
We are back in our apartment in Gothenburg and already missing the warmth of the USA. The streets are still covered in snow and the forecast calls for the days to get just above freezing at best. Fortunately it's sunny and as the days continue to lengthen it feels like spring isn't that far away.
Here is a parting shot from the States.

Relinquishing the Motherload
We are hours from hopping on a plane back to Sweden and saying our final goodbyes to friends and family. It has been a great trip and the extent of it will probably only be realized when we get back to our frozen home.
While our trip is ending others are just getting started as we've turned over the helm of the Motherload to Antonio and Chris. They are doing us a favor by taking the beast back to New Mexico and making a road trip out of it. The Load is in good hands.
